[ Anti-Energy ] The Anti-Energy Rune is one of the first runes that the Demons of Light learn to use. It's unique abilities and powers are balanced by the extremely high cost that one incurs to learn, and use, it. The completed Anti-Energy Rune series is shaped almost exactly like the energy rune, with a few small changes. The Anti-Energy Rune forms around the Energy Rune like a sort of spiders web of intricate lines and arches. The Anti-Energy Rune series, like the Energy Rune series, is shaped like a spidery circle with four bulges in it. The first power level, or normal Anti-Energy Rune, is the first bulge in the circle, located at the top. Inside the bulge is a single, broken circle. The circle, and the rune itself, is gray in color, and shifts to a dark shade of black when the rune is being used. The powers of the Anti-Energy Rune are twisted and altered powers of the Energy Rune, which in fact makes them ideal for use against some foes. Level 1: Anti-Energy Sense- Anti-Energy can be used in many ways. The Dreadnought must first be able to find a source of it, and be able to hold it, before they can effectively use it. Level 2: Anti-Energy Control- Using anti-energy is a hard, and complicated process. Normally the energy we start out with is available to us at any time. However, with anti-energy, to use the energy at all we must first be able to control it. We typically do this by spreading it throughout our bodies, then allowing our mind to direct it. This is different then powering up, when a Dreadnought uses anti-energy there is always a struggle for control. All rolls using anti-energy are made at a difficulty of +2. If you do not make the roll then you suffer an automatic amount of burnout of your normal energy, in the amount of how much anti-energy you where attempting to use. Only demons are immune to this side affect. If they fail the roll nothing happens. The Energy generally manifests as either a dark shadow surrounding the Dreadnought, black bands of electricity arcing around their body, or as a darkening in the eyes and a withering of the body. The manifestation it takes on depends on the individuals preference, and need not be the same every time. Focusing anti-energy requires all of the Dreadnought's attention, and therefore they may not perform any other action while Powering up. Normal powering up rules apply. Level 3: Anti-Energy Absorb- A dangerous process that is both tricky, and relatively easy to do. The danger comes from the fickle nature of anti-energy. One second it's gentle and pliable, the next it's slippery as an eel and whipping around out of control. Absorbing anti-energy requires all of an individuals concentration. Level 4: Anti-Energy Flow Manipulation- Anti-Energy is hard to find, even in the best of times. So it is typically a good idea for a Dreadnought to be able to find a source, and then bind it into an object or area, making it a constant source. This requires lot's of time and effort, as was said before, anti-energy is fickle and hates to be tied to one spot. Level 5: Anti-Energy Scan- Only certain beings use anti-energy in one form or another. This energy can be seen by those who practice and concentrate hard enough. Anti-Energy scans can, surprisingly, be used to see through an illusion, or fake set of stats. [ Anti-Energy Manipulation ] The Anti-Energy Manipulation Rune is the second power level in the Anti-Energy Rune series. It is also the second bulge in the circle, just like it's counterpart, and it is located on the left side of the circle. It is represented by a symbol that looks like a tattered and torn spider web which is a dull gray in color. The web represents the ability of Dreadnoughts with this rune to catch, and cancel the usage of other types of energy. Please refer to the Energy Manipulation Rune to see what types of energy are affected. Level 1: Free energy Level 2: Physical and Emotional energy Level 3: Internal energy Level 4: Building Block energy Level 5: Unchangeable and Intangible energy [ Anti-Energy Absorption ] The Anti-Energy Absorption Rune is the third power level in the Anti-Energy Rune series. It opens the doorway for the Dreadnought to increase their powers through special means, and to learn more about the anti-energy that they are using. It is the third bulge in the Anti-Energy Rune Circle, and is found on the bottom of the circle. It consists of a double convoluted funnel shaped symbol. The rune appears to be separating two three dimensional planes from each other, with a knot tied in the center of the funnels. The color, once again, is a dull gray, denoting the ability of the Dreadnought to stop energy from almost any source, and to bring his own to himself from any distance. Level 1: Syphon- Gives the ability to draw energy from any source of anti-energy you may have taken control of, no matter the distance. Level 2: Energy Funnel- Opens a semipermenant channel between you and a source of your anti-energy, giving you a constant flow of fresh anti-energy. Level 3: Pacification- This power allows you to keep anti-energy calm and easy to use. Level 4: Multikinetisism- Dreadnoughts with this ability may do something which almost unheard of. They may use anti-energy, and normal energy at the same time. Level 5: Stealing- This power gives a Dreadnought the ability to steal the energy from another Dreadnought's source. Caution, this may not be a good idea against certain types of higher level energy. [ Anti-Energy Control ] The Anti-Energy Control Rune is the final rune in the Anti-Energy series, and it is by far the most powerful, and the most useful of the four. It is found on the right side of the circle, just like it's pair. It's symbol is a dull gray zero sign that seems to contract whenever anti-energy is used. This symbolizes the Dreadnought's progression in their ability to use Anti-Energy, and an almost complete understanding of how this energy type works. Level 1: Negate- The Dreadnought may, with a modest amount of effort, destroy another individuals energy source by pumping anti-energy into it until it has all been nullified. This is a very dangerous thing to attempt, as backlashes are fairly common. Level 2: Anti-Energy Shift- Dreadnought's with this power can keep another individual from shifting their energy type. For the duration of this power, the target is unable to alter their energy source in any way. Level 3: Energy Cloak- Dreadnought's with this ability may use normal energy to cover up the fact that they may use, or are using, anti-energy. Level 4: Fractional Power Up- Dreadnought's with this ability can seriously decrease the amount of energy another individual may use. Powering up will cause an individual to lose energy points, as will focusing or forcing. This power may also be used to decrease the effectiveness of an individuals energy. Level 5: Anti-Energy Mastery- A Dreadnought with this ability cannot have his anti-energy touched by anyone weaker than he is. They cannot be blocked from using anti-energy or have someone force them to share their anti-energy. As a side benefit, the Dreadnoughts anti-energy pool will never fall below 20 points. If it gets within 10 points of the minimum their body will automatically convert free energy to anti-energy at the rate of 1 point per round to replenish their stores, this does not affect normal actions. Anti-Energy is gained at the same rate as normal energy, see the Energy Rune page for details. Extra Information- When Anti-Energy is focused into an object, that object slowly becomes Anti-Matter. The rate of change is directly related to how much Anti-Energy gets focused into the object. A huge amount will change it right away, while a very small amount will take days or even months to alter the objects form. When Anti-Energy mixes with normal Energy, it causes a small explosion. Mixing too much at once can have some very bad side affects on an area, and on everyone around. I know, The Anti-Energy Manipulation Rune sounds a lot like the Null Rune. Well it should, the Null rune is actually a lesser form of Anti-Energy. There are a few major differences though. The Null Rune only nullifies existing energy. The Anti-Energy Runes actually convert the energy they would have used to a completely inert form of energy, which as of yet, has no known use. The Anti-Energy Manipulation Rune also allows you to stop someone from using energy, thereby cutting them off from their powers completely. |
