...the Iron Mountain...

The Dragoons are, by and large, the largest class of Dreadnoughts when it comes right down to sheer mass. Dragoons are the tanks of the Dreadnoughts. They may not be fast, and they might not be able to punch through plate armor, but they sure as hell can take a hit. Dragoons are used as the defensive line in any battle. They'll be the first ones in, and the last ones out, of any fight. Nothing living can take more physical damage than a high level Dragoon. It's that simple. These guys were made for defense. This can be seen very clearly when you look at even a new recruit. Once they get the Stamina Rune mastered, it's all over. Most of them put on over a hundred pounds of muscle mass within the first 4 months of becoming a Dreadnought. This typically doubles their width without changing their height very much. We've all heard the jokes about the really big guys who are dumb as rocks. Forget it. Not only are they physically huge, but they're mental giants as well. Remember, I didn't say they were fast, but they're very, very, perceptive.
Dragoons favor Stamina and Perception over all other stats. In keeping with this, Dragoons tend to prefer spending most of their time working on their Physical stats.

[ Class Elder ]

[ Runes ]

Stamina     Mental

The class Runes of the Dragoons balance out as follows. The Stamina Rune series is used to make the body more able to withstand damage, but, by increasing the damage you can withstand, you seriously lower maneuverability. The Mental Rune Series is used at first to make the mind more able to withstand attack, and to decrease learning time. Later, it's used to move objects, and eventually the Dreadnought, across space. Making it easier for them to move their mass.
AKA, one rune series works on mental strength and movement, the other makes you tougher, but keeps you from moving.

[ Traits ]

Dragoons grow twice as fast as other Dreadnoughts, with most taking on huge war forms in the likenesses of dragons, centaurs, or other huge creatures.

Class Bonuses:

Dragoons, as I said earlier, are some of the toughest things alive. They tend to have lots of health levels, lots of stamina, and tons of damage soaking capability. Every time a Dragoon hits another level where he or she is allowed to boost their stats, the Stamina automatically goes up by one point, and the Dragoon gains another Health Level. They are at a -1 difficulty on most soak rolls. Dragoons typically have lots of friends, who wouldn't want to hang around with the guy who can get hit by a bus and not move an inch.
Dragoons grow huge, bulging muscles, and their bones can more than triple in diameter during the first few years. Most of them grow roughly half an inch every time they go up in level. While they're growing vertically, their bodies horizontal growth almost paces it. Most of them are roughly half as wide as they are tall.

Class Restrictions:

Being big usually means being slightly slow. Dragoons require 1.5 times as much experience to get the Speed Runes. Also, unless they have the speed runes, whenever the Dragoon gains another permanent point of stamina, they lose a point of Dexterity. Possibly the biggest drawback to being a Dragoon is being a bodyguard. You're always going to get called on to either teleport someone somewhere, or to act as a bodyguard for a loudmouth Delegate.
Oh, and watch out when a Mountain of Air stands behind you.

[ Opinions of the Other Classes ]

Blades of Life -- They seem nice enough, but we don’t require healing very often.

Delegates of Deviation -- With a little training, they might actually be able to take a hit.

Demons of Light -- You ever feel like someone’s staring at your back?

Dream Shifters -- I need a ride! That’s all I ever hear…

Harbingers of Destruction -- Too bad they can’t take their own medicine.

Illusions of Perfection -- I can understand the shields, but what’s with the animals and machines?

Mountains of Air -- Why the hell are they always jumping behind us?

NecroSeraphim -- They look so weak and sickly, no wonder they have their minions do everything.

Order of Chaos -- ‘shakes head’ I suppose everything has a purpose; be damned if I know what it is.

Shadahar's Talons -- I got some toxic waste for you… Hehehe…

Soul Berserkers -- Nothin like a quickie…

Templars of Twilight -- Big and solid, just like us.

Waves of Flame -- I’d have a bad temper if I was that small too.
