The Dream Shifters are a generally noncombatant class. They prefer to spend their time learning and helping others. Most Dream Shifters spend at least a few hours a day in the Healing Center, helping people with sleeping disorders, mental disorders, or handicaps. For this reason, they get along very well with the Blades of Life, as they can usually sympathize with their plight. Any time someone can't sleep, guess who they're going to come and see. That's right… Dream Shifters tend to go more for the Mental and Social stats. Placing heavy emphasis on Perception and Manipulation. [ Class Leader ] Thri'llith R'heviel [ Bio Available ] [ Class Elder ] Ved Asai M'in [ Runes ] Alteration Sensory Sleep These runes aren't quite as easy as the last few have been. Alteration Rune works on completely changing things into something else. The Sensory Rune works on augmenting what's already there. And the Sleep Rune works on suppressing what's already there. [ Traits ] The Dream Shifters normally go for higher mental and social stats, and place more emphasis on learning and creating new things, than on fighting and destroying. Class Bonuses: As a Dream Shifter you will probably never have to worry about fighting. There's always a Templar, or a Demon around that will see to it that you'll never get hurt. That's right, a Demon of Light. Who do you think suppresses their nightmares, and allows them sleep at night? It sure as hell isn't the Harbingers. Dream Shifters start to lose their need to sleep after they hit 20th level. They still rest, but it's usually a contemplative reading session. Along those same lines, Dream Shifters are immune to powers that would put them to sleep, or knock them out once they hit 20th level. Dream Shifters don't grow very much after they become Dreadnoughts. Much like the Blades. They may put on just about a foot during their entire Dreadnought career. Class Restrictions: Since the Dream Shifters have three class runes, they require 1.5 times as much experience to go up levels including their class runes. Other than that, the Dream Shifters suffer a +1 difficulty to physical attacks, but they get a -1 difficulty on social encounters. [ Opinions of the Other Classes ] Blades of Life -- We heal, they heal, it’s all the same in the end. Delegates of Deviation -- We prefer to be a bit more indirect. Demons of Light -- I really feel for them, so much pain and torment. Dragoon -- My head hurts! That’s all I ever hear… Harbingers of Destruction -- Psionic backlash is a bitch. Illusions of Perfection -- So real they’re almost fake. Mountains of Air -- Everyone has to sleep sometime. NecroSeraphim -- Live a little, there’s more to life than cloaks and darkness. Order of Chaos -- So cryptic… How tasty. Shadahar's Talons -- I love a good purification. Soul Berserkers -- Live fast, die fast. Templars of Twilight -- You wouldn’t believe what they’re suppressing. Waves of Flame -- I can smell the char from a mile away. |
