[ Illusion ] The Illusion Rune is used to create Illusions that appear to be real to others. At first they may be shaky, or have light pass through them, or lack most realism, but as you progress, your illusions may become downright deadly. The Illusion rune is represented by a sphere of light that flickers from time to time and wavers almost constantly. Illusions are created instantly, there is no lag. They are only controlled by your mind. Nobody can take an illusion away from your control, no matter how powerful they are. They can banish it, but they can't control it. Level 1: Your illusions are small and shaky, they don't look very real, and they're only 2 dimensional. Level 2: Your illusions may be man sized, and almost look realistic in bright light. In the dark, or when it's really dim they can't be distinguished from the real thing, and are three dimensional. They may even speak or appear to listen or smell things. Level 3: Your illusions may be the size of a room, and are very realistic, realistic to the point that they can actually feel solid if someone believes they're real. They lack smell, and will be recognized as fake by those in the know. Level 4: Your illusions may be the size of a house. They can speak, have smell, and even appear to be completely real. Unfortunately, they will be lacking a shadow. Level 5: Your illusions may be any size. They are so realistic that they can interact physically with other beings, have sound, smell, feel completely realistic, and cast a shadow, they can even, in dire need, kill someone indirectly. But they may never, ever, kill someone directly. By directly I mean that the illusion cannot stab someone to death, or anything along those lines. If that ever happens, there will be a very big problem, in that illusions of this power can become real, and will attempt to kill the creator. [ Shield ] The Shield Rune is possibly the greatest defensive rune around. It uses your own personal energy to stop attacks from hitting you. At higher levels, it may even be used to get rid of those who are trying to hurt you. The shield rune is represented by a sphere that forms around a figure of a person. As the shield rune increases in levels its affects can be changed marginally, but its basic use is always the same. The Shield Rune can be used offensively by crushing someone bewteen the shield and a solid object at levels where the shield can expel someone. This deals about 10 health levels of bashing damage per round. If someone is unlucky enough to get stuck between two large shields, they take double damage from both. Level 1: A transparent shield encircles you, stopping one magic attack, or up to 10 health levels of damage. Level 2: A transparent shield encircles you, or someone near you, stopping two magic attacks, or up to 20 health levels of damage. Level 3: A transparent shield encircles you and anyone within 20 feet of you, stopping 5 magic attacks, or up to 50 health levels of damage. This shield may also be used personally on just you or another person, if it's used for that it wraps closely around the body, and is invisible to anyone without an energy sensing ability. Level 4: A transparent shield encircles you and anyone within 50 feet of you, you may eject those who are undesirable form the shield, stopping ten magic attacks, or up to 100 health levels of damage. Level 5: A translucent shield encircles you, and anyone within 100 feet of you, stopping 20 magic attacks, or absorbing up to 200 health levels of damage. Once again, this may be used on up to 5 people personally, with no distance limits after it has been activated, and will wrap around them like a second skin. The Shields of this rune may not be layered together. If this level is used on individuals they will crackle with energy lightning every time they are hit. [ Reflection ] The Reflection Rune works in two ways. The first method of using it involves reflecting attacks back at their originator. The second method involves using it on an object, or in conjunction with another rune. This causes the object, or runes affect, to bounce off of any object it hits, dealing full damage every time it hits something else. The Reflection Rune is represented by a mirror like substance that forms on the Dreadnought's palms whenever the rune is used. A reflected attack does not have to be directed back at the originator. It can be knocked off to the side, directed at someone else, or even just fired up into the air. Oh, and attacks aren't the only thing that can be reflected. Healing can also be reflected. This is especially useful as high levels with this rune, because an enemy healing one of their friends, or one of your friends healing someone else, can have that one shot of healing reflected at up to 20 others, with full affect each time. Oh yes, and one caution when using this rune. Reflected attacks still deal their damage to everything they hit, so you could reflect a huge attack back at the originator, and still get fried by it. Each level of the rune has a few values. The first is the amount of damage that can be reflected, the second is the number of attacks that can be reflected, or the number of times an attack or item can bounce before losing all of its energy, and the third is the percentage of power a reflected attack retains each time it's reflected. All reflections take place in the same round. To use this effectively, the user must map out the reflections in their mind ahead of time. Reflections that travel to their next target are at a +2 difficulty to dodge, using the difficulty of the original attack as the base. Reflections that are made by one being who is touching another, cannot be dodged, only soaked. Level 1: 5 health levels/ 1/ 20% Level 2: 10 health levels/ 2/ 40% Level 3: 20 health levels/ 4/ 60% Level 4: 50 health levels/ 10/ 80% Level 5: 100 health levels/ 20/ 100% [ Null ] The Null Rune sucks the energy out of an attack or defense before it can be used. As it goes up in level, it also goes up in efficiency. In some cases it can be used to stop all attacks, defenses, or upkeep's from being used for a long period of time, creating an antienergy zone. These are very dangerous areas for physically weak Dreadnoughts or other beings. As no special abilities will work within them. The Null Rune is represented by a black circular area inside a sparkling energy field. As the Null Rune advances you will be able to stop larger and larger amounts of energy. Stopping the usage of energy can be in one of two ways. First, a Dreadnought can create a general Null energy zone that absorbs the energy used by anyone in it till it's absorbed it's total, this is useful for messing up large groups of relatively weak energy users, but is exhausted very quickly. The second method, is to focus the affect on an individual being or object. This gives a much more pronounced affect, as the Individual in question will generally find themselves helpless if they rely too much on energy. Remember, if you lose even part of the energy you were planning on spending on an attack, the whole attack fizzles. When used on objects, the null rune either stops them from creating affects, or it protects them from others affects. A Dreadnought is not, and I repeat NOT, affected by their own null runes affects, they cannot be reflected back at them, and all of their energy usage works normally within the null zone. You could, in theory, create a planetary null zone, and be the only one not affected by it on that particular planet. The radius of this Runes influence is limited to your normal energy control rating. Also, as a side note, this rune will not work on Dreadnought's who are more powerful than you are. Null zones can be placed in objects, or used with the Drawing ability. Level 1: You may stop one usage of energy a round, up to 10 energy points worth. Level 2: You may stop two usage's of energy a round, up to 20 energy points worth. Level 3: You may stop four usage's of energy a round, up to 40 energy points worth. Level 4: You may stop eight usage's of energy a round, up to 80 energy points worth. Level 5: You may stop any number of energy usage's a round, no limit on energy points stopped. Any targets are blocked from using any of their energy. |
