The Illusions are somewhere in the middle of the road when it comes to Dreadnoughts. They rank right up there with the NecroSeraphim and Shadahar's Talons when it comes to fighting. Some like it, some don't, it all depends on the individual. They're more or less the engineers and scientists of the Dreadnoughts. They build devices that make things run better. They help domesticate animals. They use their knowledge of the body to help keep people healthy, and to help replace damaged or missing organs. They do a little bit of everything. As such, they place equal amounts of attention on each stat. But, they spend more time using their Mentals than the others. Most Illusions have a crafts, and science, rating of 5. [ Class Leader ] Elendar [ Bio Available ] [ Class Elder ] Cáclyna [ Runes ] Illusion Mechanics Nature These runes, on first glance, don't seem to balance, but after you go over it a few times, it starts to make more sense. The Illusion rune deals with those intangible things that you normally can't see, feel, or just don't notice. The Mechanics rune deals with the tangible, but it only works on parts, not the whole thing at once. The Nature rune works on the whole, sometimes tangible, sometimes not. Going even further into it, the Illusion rune starts off creating something out of nothing, then moves on to create nothing, by using something. The Mechanics rune doesn't create, it manipulates things that are already there into something else. Finally, the nature rune manipulates something out of what's already there in the beginning, shifts over to creating more, or less of something, thereby creating something from nothing, and nothing from something, and finally goes on to create something, out of something. I know it's confusing, but sometimes the balance doesn't make sense. It just is. [ Traits ] Their ordinary appearance leads their opponents to believe they have an easy victory. But an experienced Illusions of Perfection Dreadnought can easily see through the situation and overcome it. They can also develop the sort of technology which could cripple an opponent before they can raise a fist. From stasis cannons to pulse nuclear propulsion grenades. It is said, that they are more like computers then Dreadnoughts at higher levels. Depending on the user, he/she can either become more like a machine or an illusion. Class Bonuses: The Illusions can fix anything given enough time. It may take an hour, it may take a day, but if it can be fixed, they can do it. They get a -1 difficulty on all crafts rolls, all social rolls dealing with animals, and on all defensive maneuvers. The Illusions don't grow much over the years. Some get a bit taller, some decide to rebuild their body out of metal and stuff, and some try to shift their own DNA so they grow more, or actually shrink, to fit their personal perfect body type. Class Restrictions: Since they have three class runes, the Illusions require 1.5 times as much experience to advance in their class runes. Watch what you do in public. If you ever break something you'll never hear the end of it. It doesn't matter if you've actually ever touched the item in question or not, if you've broken something previously, everyone will lose faith in your abilities. Just looking at something can be all it takes to start the rumor mill running. Once you botch a crafts roll, you're at a +1 difficulty in social situations till you fix, or build, at least ten working machines, things, etc… [ Opinions of the Other Classes ] Blades of Life -- Too bad they can’t be satisfied with their own powers. Delegates of Deviation -- They’re good at their job. I wouldn’t want it. Demons of Light -- We have more in common than most people realize. Dragoon -- They’re perceptive, but sometimes I have to wonder. Dream Shifters -- Living in a Dream World is more like it. Harbingers of Destruction -- There are many different types of strength, the ones that can see that are the strongest by far. Mountains of Air -- Oops, guess they shouldn’t have buzzed me when I had the null zone up. NecroSeraphim -- Too old fashioned. All those cloaks and minions are so… so… Outdated! Order of Chaos -- Want to see something funny? Null one while they’re in the middle of a Chaos rant. Shadahar's Talons -- They’re cool, once you get to know them. Soul Berserkers -- Want to see something even funnier? Null one while they’re sprinting full out. Templars of Twilight -- Raw materials and electricity, what more could you possibly want? Waves of Flame -- I’ve got a flame thrower and an ice maker, thanks anyway. |
