[ Light ]

The Light Rune is used to create light, simple huh?  It just manifests free energy as light, making it easier to see, easier for plants to grow, and easier for you to find things.  The Light rune is represented by a glowing orb inside a bigger symbol.
The Light Rune's levels are pretty straightforward, and pretty easy to learn.

Level 1: The Dreadnought can create as much light in an area as a normal 60 watt light bulb would give off.
Level 2: The Dreadnought can create as much light in an area as a normal 100 watt light bulb.
Level 3: The Dreadnought can create as much light as a group of floodlights.
Level 4: The Dreadnought can create as much light as a spotlight, and focus it on one spot.
Level 5: The Dreadnought can create the same light as the noonday sun.  Yup, this will damage vampires.

Alternate Powers: Whoa?! What's this? Alternate powers for a Rune? And you thought that it was just for making light and balancing things. That's what the Order of chaos wants you to believe. Pretty tricky of them huh? These powers where recovered when a recent cache of disks of knowledge where found in an alien planets museum… Enjoy…

Level 1: Ball of light- The Dreadnought can create a small ball of light. It will give off roughly as much light as a lantern, and floats along wherever the Dreadnought directs it.
Level 2: Beam of light- The Dreadnought can create a small beam of light, roughly one foot in diameter, and up to 100 feet long, this is useful for illuminating a long hallway, of lighting up an entire room.
Level 3: Floodlight- Every object within sight will give off roughly as much light as a fluorescent lamp, at this level.
Level 4: Permanent Light- The Dreadnought can imbue an object with light, making it shine for a very, very long time. Also, the Dreadnought may dim this light to a very low level by concentrating for a few seconds. Most Dreadnought homes use these type of objects for lighting.
Level 5: Light Tentacles- The Dreadnought can take the light that's already in an area and shift some of it into a tentacle, or tentacles, that can move around and even attack people. The strength of the tentacles depends on the strength of the light source. A match flame will make a tentacle roughly strong enough to pluck grass, while direct sunlight will create a tentacle that can uproot a small tree.


[ Good ]

The Good Rune is slightly misleading, as it doesn't really make you good.  However, it will make evil things better. As it's used to mainly keep the balance, what better way than to make everything neutral?  The good rune is represented by a curved white teardrop shape inside a bigger symbol.
The Good Rune, like the light rune, is pretty straightforward, and is also easy to learn.  Of course, this isn't an automatic thing, it usually takes a few days for the changes to occur, and there's always the chance that they will revert if something isn't done to keep them neutral.

Level 1: The Dreadnought may make someone who is barely evil at all, neutral, by adding some good to them.
Level 2: The Dreadnought may make someone who is only slightly evil, neutral.
Level 3: The Dreadnought may make someone who is rather evil, neutral.
Level 4: The Dreadnought may make someone who is very evil, neutral.
Level 5: The Dreadnought may make someone who is evil incarnate, neutral.

Alternate Powers:

Level 1: Good Deed- The Dreadnought may, for one round, reverse any negative action that someone was going to take, and make it a positive action, or a neutral action. Instead o back stabbing someone and taking their money, a thief affected by this power ould pick up someone's dropped wallet and hand it to them.
Level 2: Jiminy Cricket- The Dreadnought may dredge up a conscience for a person. This usually takes the form a small animal, or angel sitting on their shoulder which speaks to them when they do something wrong, or are thinking about it. This personage can't be harmed in any way.
Level 3: Cry About It- This power is used right after a person does something that's considered bad. It makes the person take a few minutes and forces them to confront what they did, and realize exactly what kind of impact they have had on a person life by making them feel that persons pain.
Level 4: Random acts of kindness- This power infuses an evil or neutral person with positive energy. Making them peppy, perky, and happy… Randomly… They will go out of their way to help someone, give children puppies and kittens, and make cookies for their enemies (No ex-lax!). Of course, they'll hate themselves when this power runs out.
Level 5: Happy happy happy- A truly frightening power, even for those using it. This power causes anyone to become permanently happy, and optimistic… They sing in the rain, tell jokes, and smile all the time… This power is usually only used on the most somber people, or those pesky stoic guys.


[ Life ]

Life is just one of the natural processes that occurs.  It is balanced by death.  The Life Rune causes life to spring up more abundantly around the Dreadnought.  Flowers will grow, animals will thrive, and people will be healthier and may live longer.  The Life rune is represented by a large white area that encircles the outside of the evil rune.
The Life Rune isn't generally used in certain situations, it's just always on, no matter what.  As it goes up in levels it's area of affect will increase, but not much else.  You will find that it is most potent in areas where death is very prevalent, and there's not much life.

Level 1: Affects extend for about 20 feet in all directions.
Level 2: Affects extend for about 100 feet in all directions.
Level 3: Affects extend for about 1000 feet in all directions.
Level 4: Affects extend for about 10 miles in all directions.
Level 5: Affects extend across an entire continent.

Alternate Powers:

Level 1: Irrigation- for some reason, at this level of power the Life rune causes deserts and areas void of plant life to slowly become fertile. Minerals and nutrients leach their way into the ground, water somehow bubbles up from underneath, and sand slowly turns to soil.
Level 2: Plant life- At this level plants begin to grow in an area that has been made fertile.
Level 3: Insect life- Insects migrate to the area at this level.
Level 4: Animal life- Animals begin to migrate to the area at this level.
Level 5: Ecosystem- At this level the Dreadnought gains control of the ecosystem of an area. They may change it as they wish, or alter any of it's life forms or features.


[ Order ]

Order is what keeps chaos in check, as chaos keeps order under control.  The order rune is used to either find underlying patterns in things, or to stop chaotic behavior in it's tracks.  The order rune is represented by a white ring that is intertwined with the black chaos ring.  And if you hadn't noticed, the two sets of runes make a yin yang symbol.
The Order rune, as it has already been stated, stops chaos, and finds patterns in things.  How this happens depends on the Dreadnought, as all of them are different.

Level 1: They may find order in a simple puzzle, or set of objects, or they may stop a minor chaotic source from causing any more trouble.
Level 2: They may find order in a medium difficulty puzzle or set of objects, or they may stop a normal source of chaos from causing any more disturbances.
Level 3: They may find the pattern in a difficult puzzle or set of objects, or they may stop a large source of chaos.
Level 4: They may find the pattern in a seemingly impossible puzzle or set of objects, or they may stop a really large source of chaos.
Level 5: They may find a pattern in seeming chaos itself, or they may stop a huge source of chaos.

Alternate Powers:

Level 1: Maintenance- Order can be used to stop on object from aging, or from showing the affects of wear and tear. Objects imbued with order maintain their appearance and powers for a very, very long time.
Level 2: Prevention- Objects imbued at this level with Order will never age, and can never be changed by anyone other than you.
Level 3: Everlasting- At this level Order can be used on people, and animals, as well as on objects. People imbued with Order find that they have trouble learning new things, but never forget the stuff they already knew. They still age, but not as quickly as normal people do.
Level 4: Eternal Youth- At this level, Order can be used to make someone stop aging altogether. This may seem great at first, but eventually the person will realize that not only can't they age, they also can't advance in any of their current skills or powers. Everything gets locked in place and can't be changed except with a powerful application of chaos.
Level 5: Stasis- Be eternally young, always look the same, never have a weapon break, never have a sword get dull. Anything that gets changed will change right back within hours… If not minutes. You won't have to breath, eat, drink, or go to the bathroom. Oh… and did we mention… You can't move, think, or do anything else either. This is great for use on weapons and armor… On people, it makes a good prison…
