[ Nature ]

The Nature rune is one of the newer runes to be introduced to the Dreadnoughts, one that fills a pretty wide gap where none was thought to be found. It's used to let the Dreadnought communicate with the plants, the animals, the rocks, etc. And it allows them to get closer to the living things on the planet. The Nature Rune is represented by a small set of chambered nautili that form at the base of the ears, just behind the ear lobe. With this rune, the Dreadnought can also tell at a glance how bad off a section of the environment is, and where the problem is coming from.

Level 1: The Dreadnought may speak with semi-intelligent animals, or, they may adjust their body to a new, not so hostile environment. Like a desert, a tropical setting, etc.
Level 2: The Dreadnought may speak with unintelligent animals, or, they may pass through a natural setting, like the woods, a field, etc… without disturbing anything.
Level 3: The Dreadnought may speak with insects, or, they may adjust their body to some new, hostile environment. Like underwater, in a volcano, etc…
Level 4: The Dreadnought may speak with plants, or, they may adjust their body to some new, lethally hostile environment. Like space, in lava, etc… Or, they may pass through any natural surrounding without leaving any traces.
Level 5: The Dreadnought may speak with the rocks, with the water, with the wind, or with the earth itself. They may also move through any natural environment, without actually touching anything solid. The Dreadnought's body becomes almost ghostlike, and they may pass through trees, the earth, water, etc. Or, they may animate the plants or the rocks for a short period of time, either getting them to move, or to shape them in new ways.

[ Summoning ]

The Summoning Rune is used to bring creatures from other planes to the plane the Dreadnought is on. They appear within a certain distance of the Dreadnought, which is usually determined before the creature arrives. Summoning isn’t an exact science. Creatures usually appear, but they’re not always the one you summoned. In fact, they aren’t always alive either. What this rune does is it scans all the planes and galaxies near you, in an ever expanding sphere, and when it hits a creature that matches your specifications, it pulls it across space and time to your location. It normally either looks for creatures who are near death, or who are alone and without a defined purpose. This way the natural balance isn’t disrupted if that creature just disappears. If it can’t find one, it pulls in the next best thing. Which could be anything, trust me. Of course, there’s always the fact that once you get something, you might not be able to control it, or its parents, as the case may be. The Summoning Rune is represented by a small animal that appears to grow and change as the rune gets more powerful. This rune normally appears on the Dreadnought’s back, and expands quite a bit as the rune goes up in level. Each level of this rune has six, or less, figures for it. The first is the type of creature you can summon. The second through sixth are the number of that type of creature that you can summon at each level of this rune. This number will always increase, but there will always be one less number at each successive level. The first level of this rune will have six figures, the second will have five, the fourth will have three, etc… Why? Because you can’t summon a second level creature with the first power level, so obviously you only need how many can be summoned for each level beyond that one. Make sense? I hope so.

Level 1: Insects / 1 / 5 / 20 / 100/ 1000
Level 2: Small animals / 1 / 5 / 20 / 100
Level 3: Large animals / 1 / 5 / 20
Level 4: Intelligent animals, normal beings, huge but dumb animals / 1 / 5
Level 5: Mythical beasts, extraplanar beings / 1

[ Growth ]

The Growth Rune is used for two very important things. First, it can be used to make things grow larger. This is great when used on plants, small animals, insects, etc. Second, it can be used to make things shrink. This is really good for use on supplies, or on things that are too large to carry. The Growth Rune is represented by an enlargement of the Summoning Rune. Depending on how you use it, the summoning rune will either grow, possibly encompassing the entire body, or shrink, and possibly disappear for a time. Don’t worry, it’s still there.
The Growth Rune has two figures for each level. The first figure is both the multiplier, which determines how much larger something can be made, and the divisor, which determines how much the target can be shrunk. The second figure represents how large an area can be affected with the growth or shrinking, the area of affect is considered to be a sphere, and the number is the radius in feet. Objects, or animals, that are even partially within the sphere can be affected. So if the outer edge just barely touches a tree, it can be included in the growth. The only other consideration that must be taken into account is that you can only affect one intelligent being, per level you have in this rune, at one time. So at level five you can affect 5 intelligent beings with it. Changes in size are temporary, and last for a number of rounds equal to the Dreadnoughts level times two.

Level 1: 2 / 5
Level 2: 3 / 10
Level 3: 5 / 20
Level 4: 7 / 40
Level 5: 10 / 100

[ Clone ]

The Clone rune is used for two purposes. The first is to make copies of objects, animals, data, etc… The second purpose of this rune is to create a copy of the Dreadnoughts body, complete with runes, energy, etc… This form is kept in stasis until the Dreadnought may need it. For instance, if the Dreadnought gets killed, normally the body shifts into a soul gem, but if the Dreadnought has a clone ready, the spirit shifts over to the clones body, and the Dreadnought can keep going as if nothing had happened. The Clone Rune is represented by a small object that appears somewhere on the Dreadnoughts body. The object will replicate itself occasionally, but copies will disappear just as randomly.
There are three figures for each level of this rune. The first is the type of object that can be cloned, the second is the amount of nonliving matter that can be replicated, this is listed as a cube, with the number implying the number of feet on each side, and the third is the number of copies that can be made at one time. Anything made with this rune lasts basically forever, subject to normal wear and tear.

Level 1: Nonliving matter / 3 / 1
Level 2: Small living things / 6 / 2
Level 3: Large unintelligent things / 9 / 3
Level 4: Intelligent things / 20 / 4
Level 5: Runes / 40 / 5
