[ Poison ] This Rune uses energy to construct poisons. It's uses are obvious, so I'm not going to bother going into great detail. The Poison Rune is represented by a small set of fangs that appear on the right side of the Dreadnoughts neck. The poisons created via this Rune must be delivered by touch of some sort, as the poison must be physically formed on, or in, the Dreadnought’s body. The poison can be delivered directly into a person with a touch, it can be smeared onto an object with a touch, or it can be diluted into some kind of liquid with a touch. It can also be spit at someone within a fairly short range. The most popular form of delivery is via needles, or weapons, giving an existing attack an extra punch. All damage from poisons is considered lethal. Each usage of this rune creates one dose of poison. Level 1: Low Level Poisons- Poisons at this level can make people sick, dizzy, or unable to concentrate. Nothing too major, although a very slight amount of damage can be sustained, roughly 1 health level. Level 2: Mid Level Poisons- Poisons at this level can make people really sick, these poisons can make people vomit violently, go into convulsions, or take light damage, roughly 3 health levels. Level 3: High Level Poisons- Poisons at this level will cause people to go into a coma, or take considerable damage, roughly 5 health levels. Level 4: Extremely Dangerous Poisons- Poisons at this level can kill normal people. these poisons can fry the nervous system, or cause massive amounts of damage, up to 8 health levels of damage. Level 5: Lethal Poisons- These poisons can cause death in supernatural creatures. They attack nerve endings, possibly numb the body to all pain, or cause the body's immune system to shut down. Up to 12 damage may be taken from a poison of this level. [ Toxin ] The Toxin Rune works much like the Poison Rune, save it creates toxic substances instead of poisons. These substances cause pollution of some form or another, which is usually deadly, or at least harmful to living creatures. The Toxin Rune is represented by a single droplet of some liquid that appears on the fangs of the Poison Rune. Like the Poison Rune, you must touch whatever it is that you're affecting with this Runes powers. Toxins always do aggravated damage, even though it generally takes a long time for the powers to manifest themselves. A slow steady death is still a death. Treatment for most of these problems is not possible without very high technology levels, or supernatural intervention. To prevent spreading toxins from overwhelming the body, amputations is the most proscribed treatment. Level 1: Toxic Touch- This power allows you to release some minorly toxic substance, something along the lines of tar, or a minor carcinogen, one health level of damage per month until treated. Level 2: Toxic Paste- This power creates a very small amount of a more deadly toxin. Stuff like your typical street drugs, or cancer causing substances can be created at this level. One heatlh level a week until treated. Level 3: Toxic Spread- This power causes any creature who is the host for a toxic substance, to spread it like an infectious disease through touch, or through some other form of communication. Very nasty in highly crowded areas. One health level of damage a week until treated. Level 4: Toxic Waste- This power causes large pits of noxious toxins to form in the ground when an infected creature dies. These toxins act as high level poisons, and can infect entire areas with sickness while it slowly corrupts any substance it comes into contact with. Two health levels of damage a week until treated. Level 5: Toxic Avenger- This power causes anything the Dreadnought touches to slowly form into a living mass of toxic waste. This isn't instantaneous, it takes over a month for the transformation to occur, and most people find a way to cure this before then. Plants and plantlike objects have a 100% chance of becoming Toxic life forms. One health level a week, +1 extra health level of damage every week after the first. May be treated if caught before individual has lost over half of their health levels. [ Acid ] The Acid Rune creates acids, obviously. These acids can eat through almost anything at the right level, and have been known to spread over large areas if used against the wrong creatures or objects. The Acid Rune is represented by little pits that appear in the fangs of the Poison Rune. The Acid created by the Acid Rune does not have to be delivered by touch. The acids can either be formed where you want them, or can actually appear as floating balls of liquid. It's not known how this works yet, but hey, who are we to look a gift horse in the mouth? Acids deal aggravated damage, and a single dose, which equals approximately a quart of liquid, deals damagefor at least five rounds, and starts losing damage at the rate of one health level per round, after the 4th round, unless it specifies otherwise. Level 1: This acid is relatively weak, it only does minor burning damage to skin, and won't dissolve anything other than flesh. Max of 1 health level per round of contact. Level 2: This acid will cause medium damage to the skin, and can dissolve metals, such as nickel, brass, and the softer metals. Max of 2 health levels a round. Level 3: This acid will cause damage on contact, melting the skin, and dissolving all but the hardest metals in just a few rounds. Max of 4 health levels a round. Level 4: This acid will destroy skin on contact, dissolve almost any metal, and even cause glass to bubble and froth after a few minutes of contact. Max of 8 health levels a round. Level 5: At this level, the Acid can be made into Crystals. These crystals can be used as weapons, or as defenses. Any contact with any liquid will cause a portion of the crystal to instantly turn to a liquid acid of the highest concentration. Heaven forbid they should be used as darts, arrows, or spears. Max of 16 health levels a round, crystalized acid deals damage for ten rounds, starting on the second round, and loses one health level of damage a round starting on the 7th round.. This allows the Dreadnought to create a 2 inch cube of acid crystals in any shape they want, near instantly. Or, if they’re patient enough, it may be used to slowly grow items at the rate of one cubic foot per five rounds. This is most ofetn used to create the heads for piercing or stabbing weapons. They are also allowed to do this with Poisons, and Toxins, creating the same amount of either. [ Plague ] The Plague Rune is used by those Dreadnoughts who wish to destroy an entire species in an area, or on a planet. This Rune is nothing to laugh at, especially if it's used against you. The Plague Rune is represented by spots of decay that form on the fangs of the Poison Rune. To successfully use the Plague Rune, a Dreadnought must first capture a live specimen of the species he wants the Rune to affect. Then, with a lot of experimentation, the Dreadnought can eventually cause a nearly unstoppable disease that affects only members of the species. Further, the Dreadnought must determine how the disease gets spread, how long it takes to run its course, and how devastating it is. Some plagues only affect 9 in 10 people, others only affect 1 in 10. Some can only affect those who do stuff they shouldn't be doing. The details must be worked out ahead of time. Level 1: The plague can only affect insects. Level 2: The plague can only affect small animals. Level 3: The plague can only affect aquatic animals. Level 4: The plague can affect larger animals. Including humans or humanoids. Level 5: The plague can affect literally anything. |
