[ Strength ] The Strength rune is one of the more common ones used by Dreadnoughts. It enhances the users physical prowess, enabling them to move hundreds, or thousands, of pounds more than they normally could. It does this by feeding free energy into the Dreadnoughts muscles, and throughout the rest of their body. The energy filters into the muscle cells and supercharges them to a level most beings can never hope to achieve. It's rumored that some elder Dreadnoughts have developed their powers to such an extent that they can crack a planet in half with one blow. The Strength rune's symbol is a sphere with two circular objects that are in it connected by a single thin line. It represents the altruism that Physical power is nothing unless hooked to spiritual power, or energy, and controlled by the mind. The sphere represents the mind, the first object represents the physical, the second object represents the spiritual, and the line represents the connection between the two. It's color is dependent on the type you use. The Strength rune is used to add automatic successes to your strength rolls when it is keyed. After it is keyed there is no cost for using it. The number of automatic successes you gain on your strength rolls is equal to the level of the Strength rune. If you have it at level four you get four automatic successes. There's a small table at the bottom of the page for quick reference. [ Projection ] The Projection rune is the second power level in the Strength rune series. It gives a Dreadnought the ability to strike an opponent that is far away from them, as if they were directly in range. It does this by focusing the physical power they exert on the energy around them, and translocates it a certain distance away. The distance is determined by the level of the rune. The rune itself is represented by a two tiered circular plane that is crisscrossed by a spider web of lines. On the upper plane there are two small spheres at the very edges, one of which represents the Dreadnought's physical power, and the other his target. On the other plane there are also two small spheres, however they are touching in the center of the plane. This represents the Dreadnought's ability to project their power as if they were directly in front of the target, instead of a distance away. With this rune the Dreadnought gains no extra strength bonuses, but they gain the ability to hit distant objects or people. The table at the bottom of the page shows how far they can project their strength in feet, the distances are not cumulative. [ Deadlift ] This is the third power level attained in the Strength rune series. It gives the Dreadnought the ability to lift, or throw, objects or people that would normally be way too heavy for them to move. It accomplishes this by wrapping the individual, or object, in a net of invisible energy, then assists the Dreadnought in moving the object or person by lowering the amount of resistance gravity exerts. It is represented by a small block shaped object with a sphere around it. The object represents, of course, the object or person being moved, and the sphere represents the energy that allows them to moved. As already explained, this rune allows the user to lift and throw objects or people much more easily than they normally could. This is represented by a multiplier on their strength, rather than automatic successes. The multiplier is equal to the level of the rune, times two. So, at level one they can lift twice as much, at level two they can lift four times as much, etc. The maximum weight that can be lifted, can also be thrown up to 20 feet per point the Dreadnought has in strength. Distance is bumped to 50 feet per point when the strength rating is naturally above 6. Every time the weight is halved, the distance it can be thrown doubles. So, if a Dreadnought with a 5 in strength could throw a 6500 pound object 100 feet, they could throw a 3250 pound object 200 feet, a 1625 pound object 400 feet, an 800 pound object 800 feet, a 400 pound object 1600 feet, a 200 pound object 3200 feet, or a 100 pound object over a mile. This only works for objects that weigh at least half a pound, if they weigh less than that, they won’t be able to fight air resistance long enough to get very far. This energy can also be used to hit something harder. For every level you have in this rune you can, alternatively get 2 automatic successes to damage someone, or something. Finally, this rune can also be used to enable the Dreadnought to jump incredible distances, by wrapping their own body in the energy. The distance that can be covered is equal to the distance that the Dreadnought can throw their own weight. So, in the above example, a 300 pound Dreadnought could jump about 2000 feet. There's a quick reference table at the bottom of the page. The numbers are not cummulative. And yes, the bonuses to strength given by runes is added in before the multipliers take affect. [ Kinetic Magnification ] One of the most indirectly powerful runes there is, the Kinetic Magnification has almost endless possibilities in the right hands. First and foremost it does exactly what it's name implies, it magnifies the amount of kinetic energy in an object, or used against an object. So what? Kinetic energy is the energy that moving things possess. It can be used to speed up an object till it becomes bullet like, it can be used to hit something so hard that it shatters into a million pieces upon impact, it can be used to punch a hole in plate armor. The possibilities are endless! It can even be used on objects you're not touching. So, theoretically, you could magnify the kinetic energy in another person's attack, if they're using a weapon, and indirectly kill someone without ever lifting a finger. There is one stipulation to this rune however, it may never be directly used on any living thing, only objects. So a bird can't be forced to fly into someone at the speed of sound... Unless it's a dead bird. This rune is represented by a large sphere with a smaller sphere just about to touch it, and behind the smaller sphere is a flared funnel. The larger sphere represents the object to be hit, the smaller sphere the object that is hitting the larger object, and the funnel represents the kinetic energy being pumped into the smaller sphere. As was already explained this rune is used to magnify the amount of power an object has for the purposes of hitting something else, or for speeding it up. The chart below signifies how much the damage, or speed, is magnified. [ Strength Rune Series Modifiers Chart ]
